Chaparral Bluebells-Phacelia campanularia is a species of flowering plant in the borage family.  This plant is native to California, the Sonoran Desert and the Mojave Desert. However, it is a common and favored cultivated plant, so it can be found just about anywhere. This is an annual plant that can be found below 4,000 feet, in sunny locations with well-drained, dry soil. The plant is under 1 foot in height.  There are hairs on the stems and leaves which may give some people a mild rash.
