This is an amazing German Pewter Beer Stein. On the bottom, it is marked 95% zinn in German. The German brand name is SKS. There are 3 of Columbus’ ships on the outside of the mug, the Nina, the Pinta, and Santa Maria. The handle is the bust of a woman, so popular on the bow of the ships from that era. There is a compass rose on the top of the cap. The thumb placement to open the cap is a flower. This is a very intricate, very ornate, and beautiful piece. It was purchased in Germany 30 years ago and has been in a cabinet since then, and just donated to the St. Francis Dam National Memorial Foundation.
