This pot was purchased in Suzhou, China. It is made of clay. The interior is glazed with a whitish glaze. The exterior is a muted burgundy with an upper brown rim, and a brown/grey base, both of which show wear. Along the area of the red glaze are chickens and stalks of rice. There is some paint loss on the chickens. I don’t know the age, but I’m assuming that it is quite old.
